Lives Remembered, Lives Protected is a community-centered suicide prevention and postvention initiative that transforms lessons from loss into opportunities for prevention, healing, and hope.
Through Retrospective Fatality Analysis (RFA), the project examines the circumstances surrounding suicide deaths, incorporating in-depth conversations with families and other key relationships to identify risk and protective factors, barriers to care, and opportunities for earlier intervention.
Through Living Forward: Community Conversations on Suicide, Loss & Hope, workshops, presentations, and listening sessions bring suicide prevention education directly into the community while elevating the voices and experiences of suicide loss survivors.
Together, these efforts connect data with lived experience to strengthen community understanding, improve pathways to support, reduce stigma, and inform culturally responsive suicide prevention and postvention strategies.
The goal is simple: learn from lives lost, support those living with loss, and use what we learn to help protect lives in the future.
